The bench takes one tablet at a time. Lay a tablet on it and the sprayer runs for as long as the conservation note allows that fabric to stay damp; the reading has to come off the face before the clay sets again.

Bench state
The bench is dry and empty.
House rules
- Sealed-case tablets are not put on the bench for visitors; their conservation note lives on the reverse and is released with the case file only.
- A face is turned only after its obverse has been read, so the fabric is checked before it is handled.
- Cabinet readings (
read.php) need a registered badge.
